What is it?

This compact Apple II floppy disk emulator lets an Apple II, Apple II Plus, or Apple IIe load disk images from an SD card instead of relying on aging 5.25-inch floppy disks. It includes the STM32F411 BlackPill controller board and SD card interface needed for the emulator itself.

What's in the box?

Package includes: 1x Apple II floppy disk emulator board assembly, 1x installed STM32F411 / BlackPill controller board, 1x OLED display and four-button interface, 1x prepared SD card / microSD card, and 1x ribbon cable for the Apple II floppy interface. Apple II computer, Disk II controller/interface card, and copyrighted disk images are not included.

Installation

Connect the emulator to the Apple II floppy interface using the included ribbon cable, insert the prepared SD card, then power on and use the OLED screen and four buttons to choose a disk image. Basic Apple II hardware knowledge is recommended.

Warranty

Hardware is tested before shipping whenever stock is available. The product includes a 1-year non-transferable warranty covering manufacturing defects. If compatibility or setup issues occur, contact support before requesting a return.

Why did you make it?

The original designer not provide it now, but we love this Open Source Hardware.

What is Watchy?

Watchy is an E-Paper watch with open source hardware and software. It has a barebones design utilizing the PCB as the watch body, allowing it to be worn as-is, or further customized with different 3D printed cases and watch straps. It is a unique timepiece that is also a wearable development platform, allowing users to create their own experience.

Watchy's E-Paper display delivers a beautiful crisp image clearly visible under bright sunlight, and requires no power between updates. At 200x200 pixels and monochrome, the display offers a distinctive aesthetic.

Watchy has both WiFi & Bluetooth LE connectivity, allowing it to connect with internet APIs (e.g. Weather, News, Traffic, Maps, Spotify, etc.), as well as Bluetooth LE enabled devices.

With makers/hackers/tinkerers in mind, we chose the ESP32 for its large community and support for a wide variety of development options (Arduino, Micropython, ESP-IDF, Zephyr-RTOS, etc.)

Watchy comes with comprehensive documentation and Arduino code examples that demonstrate every hardware feature. New watch faces and examples are regularly added to the GitHub repo.
