What is it?

ESP-SparkBot is a fully open-source ESP32-S3-based desktop robot kit designed by ESP company, combining AI-driven voice interaction, image recognition, and multimedia playback. It features a 1.3-inch 240×240 color LCD, OV2640 camera, digital microphone, and accelerometer to enable interactive applications from games to video streaming.

Why did you make it?

The SparkBot was created to bring sophisticated AI capabilities to the maker community in an accessible hardware platform. But ESP company do not provide it. It empowers users to experiment with large-language-model conversations, local face recognition, and motion detection without requiring cloud dependencies. With magnetic modular design and a companion mobile app, we wanted to offer flexibility to transform the bot into a remote-control car, smart speaker, or secondary display at will ESP Component Registry.

What makes it special?

Unlike typical IoT devices, SparkBot supports on-device AI inference, allowing offline operation for privacy and reliability. Its magnetic expansion interface lets you snap on modules for real-time camera transmission or external sensors in seconds. The built-in game features such as 2048 and gesture-based dice-rolling showcase its entertainment potential beyond simple utility. All hardware design files and firmware are publicly available under GPL 3.0, encouraging customization and community-driven innovation.

as the product contains a built-in lithium battery, most standard logistics services do not support direct shipping of such items, we may recommend that customers purchase lithium batteries separately via other platforms.
