Overview
The Maker-ESP32 Development Board is a feature-rich ESP32 controller built around the ESP32-WROOM-32D module. Designed for maker education, robotics projects, and IoT applications, it combines wireless connectivity, motor driving capability, and multiple expansion interfaces on a single compact board.
Unlike typical ESP32 dev boards that focus only on MCU I/O, Maker-ESP32 integrates high-current motor control and power interfaces — making it ideal for projects that actually move, react, and interact with the real world.
What is it?
Maker-ESP32 is a ready-to-use ESP32 development board that integrates:
- ESP32 dual-core MCU
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 (Classic + BLE)
- High-current motor driver (up to 3A)
- Servo ports and GPIO headers
- I²C / SPI interfaces (OLED-ready)
- External power input via screw terminals
All connectors are clearly labeled, making the board especially suitable for students, educators, and beginners — while still powerful enough for advanced maker projects.
Why did we make it?
Many ESP32 boards are excellent for firmware development, but real educational and robotics projects require more than GPIO pins: motor driving without extra H-bridge modules, stable power delivery, simple wiring, and clear pin labeling. Maker-ESP32 was created to lower the hardware barrier between learning ESP32 programming and building real, functional systems such as robots, smart devices, and interactive installations.
What makes it special?
- Built-in motor driver — No need for external H-bridge boards. Directly drive DC motors.
- High current capability — Motor output supports up to 3A, uncommon on standard ESP32 dev boards.
- Education-friendly layout — Clearly marked ports, grouped interfaces, and screw terminals for safe wiring.
- True all-in-one design — Controller, motor drive, and power interfaces on one board.
- Flexible software support — Compatible with Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF, and MicroPython.
